The camera stays on your phone

Alexs Music Mat uses your camera to turn movement of everyday objects into sound. Every camera frame is analyzed on your device, in the browser or app itself. Frames are never uploaded, stored on a server, or seen by anyone. If you choose Performance Recording, the app holds that clip temporarily on your device so you can preview, share, or save it; discarding it or closing the app removes the temporary copy.

Recordings stay on your device

If you record short voice clips for sound zones, they are kept in your device's local storage (up to eight two-second clips) and never leave it. Performance videos are only sent elsewhere when you explicitly use your device's Share or Save action. Saved play mats live in the same on-device storage. Deleting the app or clearing site data removes locally stored app data.

No accounts, no tracking

There is nothing to sign up for. We set no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies. We can't build a profile of you or your child because nothing about you reaches us.

Website assets stay simple

The website’s fonts, illustrations, and sound previews are served from this site. We don’t load third-party font, analytics, or advertising services.
